About Me!

Hummingbird Operandi

Hey y'all!
SO you're here to learn a little more about me, but as most writers- I'm not very good at talking about myself. So here goes nothing!

I'm a 20-something Trans* Pansexual living with Bi-polar Disorder and Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. That's why I try to include many queer-positive and mental illness supportive themes in my stories.
Hummingbird Operandi, or more simply Hb. Operandi is my nom-de-plume, but you can call me Belle.

I live in K-Town, Los Angeles. A perfect place to wander and get inspired; as well as a writer's cave with very little in the way to distract me from my work.

I've been a writer since I was a child; by the third grade I was writing at a 12th grade level and reading at a college senior level. Very often people told me I should be a writer, though I usually dismissed the thought...I worked in short-stories because writing a full-length novel never held my attention. So instead I studied Film, Hotel Management, and eventually Architecture. During that last one I ran a blog about Sustainable Architecture for quite a while so I'm used to blogging (however I am really rusty).

The last blog that I ran (recently) was all about my stories, I posted chapter by chapter...however I posted the extremely rough drafts. I am happy to say that they are considerably better now...though I still have a to do list a mile long before I'm ready for publishing! So this blog isn't going to be about that, but rather my journey as a writer, tips and tricks, writing prompts, relevant and interesting articles, and what I call The Blank Guide to Writing which is good for a laugh! Check the pages tab.

Besides that there isn't much to say except that I'm an avid reader and love seeing how other authors write. I'm currently in my Beta Reader process and am looking for new people to check out my series and give feedback...in turn I would love to see what you're working on and do the same! Send me a message and let's work together!

Did I do okay? ^.^

-Belle
