Hey y'all
Sorry for taking a leave of absence without a word; i've been working on a new project so the Crestwood Saga has taken a backseat for now. I have wanted to write about it sooner but we're still in the early phases of it so I couldn't really say much (we didn't even have a title yet), but now I think it's time.
We?
Yes we. I hooked up with another author from ladieswhocritique.com and we are writing a book together. Her from one perspective and I from the other; two main characters with very different views on the world. It's really exciting.
So what's it about?
Mesa Roman is a mafia assassin, the daughter of the Don, and a survivor of domestic abuse. She killed her husband and ever since her blood has run cold; her only joy in life is becoming the family's top contract killer. She must take action to prevent a mafia-war between rival families, and find out what sparked it in the first place; but her babysitter is keen on keeping her within sight and out of harm. If only he knew that harm was exactly where she wanted to be.
James Larkin is her new bodyguard; and an undercover FBI Agent aiming to take down Don Roman. Having lost everything that he cares about he threw himself into this new life and is quickly finding himself at home in the mob; even if it means chasing down the brat every time she gives him the slip. As he gains the confidence of Mesa and the family, he learns more about their true operations; giving him the evidence he needs to take them all down. But he realizes Mesa isn't this stone-hearted killer that she appears to be; he wants to protect her...he needs to protect her. He would say he loves her, but how could she love him if she knew who he really was? If he could only be honest with her...he'd end up like every other person who crossed the Romans.
The Deadliest Dance is still in it's draft phase so there's little more that I can say. I certainly won't be posting any chapters or scenes here (for a while at least) and the beta rounds won't be for a long while.
But at least you know where I've been.
I'm going to try to remember this blog and post some things when I can, but for the time being my energy is dedicated.
Sincerely,
Hb.O

More new stuff! And some old stuff unbroken!
If you happened to be on my blog yesterday or today; I sincerely apologize. For the rest of you, NEW LOOK, NEW LINKS, NEW FORMATTING!! Yay!
What happened was I really really wanted a drop down menu gadget since I'm compulsive to organization...my obsession came out when I wouldn't let it go, tried out a variety of new templates with little luck, and basically rendered this blog illegible and unlinked. Yikes.
I decided to for-go the drop down for a better set of pages. The thing was is that there's really two sides to this blog. The stuff talking about me, my work, and my progress...and the blog. So you'll notice above there's new categories. Here's basically what you'll find.

Some behind the scenes crap!
Hey y'all!
So I haven't been posting lately (though I had called it) but that doesn't mean I haven't been hard at work here.
If you've been checking in daily (which at this point I couldn't imagine there are too many of y'all (and those who do, awwww!)) you've may have noticed things being moved around and changed; do not adjust your set. Here are the changes that I have settled on!
It was all started when I wanted to create a complex taxonomic site map...which I did HERE. It's not finished by any means, many of the pages under the books are just placeholders until I can sit down and polish them. The other links will mainly direct you to either the page already set up, or the tag in which relates. That's another thing, I've added more tags to separate the posts on this blog. For example, all writer advice is going to be tagged as such, but will include another tag to differentiate what part of the writing process it covers...so in the site map you can click that specific option and get relevant information!

- Added HTML scripts to the sidebar
- Social Media buttons
- Recent posts feed
- Created Goodreads profile
- Added HTML scripts to the footer
- Currently reading/read/to-read widget (Goodreads)
- Made adjustments to fonts
- Made adjustments to widths
- Created an About.Me profile
- Replaced the 'About me' tab to 'Author Bio'
- Made it a redirect to above profile
That's just THIS blog! I also changed/fixed/added items to my tumblr blog. The big thing is that I added two pages there that are not here. What I like to write about (HERE) and Current & Planned Work (HERE). The content of C&PW will end up getting disseminated in the individual pages I have created for each project...
...oh yeah, I've been adding a whole bunch of pages.
So that's about it! Lots of changes and additions, all in the hopes of creating more of a website feel whilst I am too poor to afford actual website building professionals. :/
Cheers!
-Belle
