It's been awhile....

Hey y'all

Sorry for taking a leave of absence without a word; i've been working on a new project so the Crestwood Saga has taken a backseat for now. I have wanted to write about it sooner but we're still in the early phases of it so I couldn't really say much (we didn't even have a title yet), but now I think it's time.

We?
Yes we. I hooked up with another author from ladieswhocritique.com and we are writing a book together. Her from one perspective and I from the other; two main characters with very different views on the world. It's really exciting.

So what's it about?
Mesa Roman is a mafia assassin, the daughter of the Don, and a survivor of domestic abuse. She killed her husband and ever since her blood has run cold; her only joy in life is becoming the family's top contract killer. She must take action to prevent a mafia-war between rival families, and find out what sparked it in the first place; but her babysitter is keen on keeping her within sight and out of harm. If only he knew that harm was exactly where she wanted to be.

James Larkin is her new bodyguard; and an undercover FBI Agent aiming to take down Don Roman. Having lost everything that he cares about he threw himself into this new life and is quickly finding himself at home in the mob; even if it means chasing down the brat every time she gives him the slip. As he gains the confidence of Mesa and the family, he learns more about their true operations; giving him the evidence he needs to take them all down. But he realizes Mesa isn't this stone-hearted killer that she appears to be; he wants to protect her...he needs to protect her. He would say he loves her, but how could she love him if she knew who he really was? If he could only be honest with her...he'd end up like every other person who crossed the Romans.

The Deadliest Dance is still in it's draft phase so there's little more that I can say. I certainly won't be posting any chapters or scenes here (for a while at least) and the beta rounds won't be for a long while.

But at least you know where I've been.
I'm going to try to remember this blog and post some things when I can, but for the time being my energy is dedicated.

Sincerely,
Hb.O
